My Brickfilms
In the last three years, I have released the following three films. All were entries to competitions, which unsparingly
shows me how much I need the pressure of a deadline to finish things. I already have a couple of more ideas for films I would
like to make in the near future. Fortunately, there are several contests per year, online contests as well as a "real world" festival, the Steinerei.
The Artist
 |
To a minifig, clay must appear to be a strange thing - no studs, no given shape, no use. Unless you're an artist, of course. This is my entry for the Steinerei 2007 where it was chosen as "Best Film" by the jury. (3:07 min, 16:9, Ogg Theora/Vorbis)

The Fisherman and his wife
 |
"Vom Fischer und seiner Frau" is an old German fairy tale once told in Low German and later written
down by the brothers Grimm. This is my somewhat modernised version of the tale and my entry for the
Steinerei 2006 festival where the theme was the picturisation of an
existing piece of literature. It won both prizes there, one awarded by the jury, the other one by the audience. (7:30 min, 16:9, DivX)

Greedy Bricks
 |
Greedy Bricks was my first published film and an entry to the 10-brick-contest held on brickfilms.com in 2004 where it
placed third. The aim
was to make a movie with no more than 10 elements in it. Greedy Bricks tells the story of two bricks who get along
fine until all of a sudden a coin rolls into the scene. Now that money is involved, will they stick together? The wonderful
guitar tune that accompanies this film is composed and performed by Jeff Wahl. (2:00 min, 16:9, DivX)
